My Nokia 8800

Finally got my Nokia 8800 - back from Macau!

Tried on the phone.. no memory card~ what can they provide right? Just a $120 phone, somemore Chiong one.. hee hee..

Tried bluetooth song and pic to the phone, it just rejected all. Maybe it is due to no memory card or maybe could be the different configuration. Nvm, so I tried using USB to transfer files from computer. No way too, it just does not recognise and does not allow me to open the folders in the phone. Maybe it is really due to the missing memory card - but the phone itself is 1G lei?

Tried putting SIM card inside and receive call.. Alamak, can't accept call by pushing the phone up, must press the answer button.. Sian loh, then what's the pushing function for right?

Conclusion - a chiong one is a chiong one, don't expect too much.

Pics of the cool expensive Nokia phone..

31 May 09 Celebrate Grandma's Bday (1 Jun)

Today we went to Chinatown market for dinner. Managed to reserve 2 tables - 15 pax. Grandpa has been wanting to try the fish head at Chinatown so we decided to have our dinner there.

The dinner was great - The Sauce Fish Head, Cuttlefish Sambal Kang Kong, Pork Ribs, Sour Fried Ginger Chicken, Veg Soup, Deep Fried Prawn Roll & Mix Veg Tou Fu.

After dinner, we went home for cake cutting. Aunty Lucy baked cupcakes and a bday cake for grandma. Quite cool - really represent the homemade cakes. hee hee
(more pics to share from Sis camera)

Noelle was here too.. Quickly captured some pics before she makes noise again..
Look at her Blur - Huh? face

Aunty's Birthday 23 May 09

Yesterday was Aunty's bday and her daughter had already planned to go Shangri-La for buffet dinner (The Line) since Thursday. Invited both Ivan and myself. But Ivan would not be free - got to work liao..
When my uncle was here to fetch me, Shi Shi was not in the car. He mentioned that she would make her way there herself. Must be going to get some pressie for her mum ba..

Surprise 1: When we reached there, her daughter greeted her mum with a very beautiful bouquet of flowers.. Aunty was very happy at that moment.
Suprise 2: Complementary cake from The Line
This thick chocolate cake was fantastic. In the end I did not eat much cos I was fulled by this cake. haha must be their plot..
Thought that was the end? No no..
Surprise 3: Self-decorated cake by Shi Shi
She reached in the afternoon to decorate this strawberry short-cake.. Cool..
Thanks for expensive dinner! It was really great and cool. Got to eat those oysters, sashimi, pizza, sushi, satay, chinese cusine, indian cusine, pastries, ice-cream, crepes etc etc.. Got carried away by the food, so did not take pix of the food.. haha..
(To Sister April: Pls do not mentioned this at home (I know u read my blog).. cos this dinner was not known to many ppl. Thanks)

22 May, Friday Night @ Marina Square

Today I'm free to blog cos Dear is not in.. Resume his work after exam and Friday was a day for us to enjoy before his working starts again.

I booked a pair of tics to watch Night at the Museum 2 at Marina Square. The show was selling fast at 12 noon already. Managed to get the 5th row seats. We headed to Asabu Sabo for dinner first. Ordered a unagi set dinner, he ordered this ramen and a baked mushrooms.
Part 1: The mushrooms incident
When the mushrooms were here, we were shocked about the handling of the mushrooms. There were a few bunch of small mushrooms that had the roots & soil on it. So, I called the waitress over and asked: "Are these the roots of the mushrooms or the soil?" Hmm.. seems like somebody felt ackward and she took the plate of mushrooms backed to the kitchen.

I was discussing with Dear that they definitely would just pull out those mushrooms and cut off the soil part. Definitely won't re-cook the dish for us. And Yes, they really did that. Returned the plate of mushrooms to us only with those soil & roots cut off. Hai~ but we were kind enough to accept the dish thou. Taste good if you don't think about the soil.. haha

Part 2: The Long Waited Unagi Set
Before my unagi set arrived, Dear had finished his dinner. Don't know what were they doing? Fishing for the unagi? I had to ask for my dinner set before they prepare? Hai~ Finally got mine and Dear was watching me eat. The couple sitting next to us whom arrived when my unagi reached my table thought that I was ill-treating my boyfriend. Let him watch me eat..

In the end we did not have our ice-cream dessert there. We went to the ice-cream counter and had our ice-cream take-away. Dear ordered a coffee wtih rum & rassin ice-cream. I got myself a milk tea with durian ice-cream. Anyway the ice-cream was quite disappointing.

Finally the movie - was very enjoyable. Glad that we enjoyed the show as it was really funny. (not better than the part 1 thou)

Photos turned out to be very nice... Quite a good experience..
Hmm.. That's what the working crew were doing during break time.. hee hee Gotcha! (they are also the models and standby models.. haha)

6 May 09 Team Building at HortPark

Very busy these few weeks, no time to blog.. some back dated fun sharing..

6 May 09, no work for managers and executives as we were off to HortPark for a team building activity! Yeah! No work!

Reached there at 8.30am, got some breakfast and the "lesson" starts... Before we went off for some activities, we were given some time to roam around the park, to familiarise and also to enjoy the scenery. Got to admit, it is very refreshing and green place.. Got some time to take some pics with colleagues - Sarah, Tracy, Lynette & Cheryl... haha

The Chio-Bu-s

Some fun shots.. Haha... cool man!

Everything went fine... Just that there was a game that made us all stick together and sweat.... Eee... Still that was fun...

The very last game was "The Amazing Race". We are given 5 stations to go to and complete the questions and tasks.. All these would cover HortPark all the way to Mt Faber.. that was really cool but I did not get the chance to walk all the way passing all the different parks to Mt Faber. (cos we took cabby..). The fun part about it was we hijacked 1 mini bus and 1 car to send us down from Mt Faber.. lol. .cos we gt no cabs up there...

Last station we went was the start point HortPark and below pic was the Hort Mart, selling some plants and some snacks for the visitors.. quite a pleasant place to go..

Given a chance, think I will try the walk again so that I can experience the Canopy Walk (280m) at Kent Ridge Park.. Yeah right araheu? :p

2 May, Saturday

Woke up at 12 noon. Had a quick breakfast with Dear b4 he left for work again. So busy..

Went home and rot for a while b4 meeting Cheryl to do an express mani and pedi.. We strolled around at AMK and spent a lot loh.. On toiletries and clothes.. But we couldn't try on shoes.. haha..

After that, we proceed to Bishan to have our dinner at Mac and we went to the OSIM fair. Had decided to buy the uZap & uZap mini bundle thou.. Good deal, $328 for a set (usual $408). Thanks Dear for sponsoring! Hee Hee..

While waiting for the sales assistant to process the payment and warranty, we were invited to wait at the.... Guess what we were doing?
Haha.. We were asked to wait at the uSqueeze area. Hmm.. always got the perception that this kind of thing is unhygienic as many people had tried on and some might have HK leg n germs.. Eee.. but nvm, jus try as I might not get the chance to try it. Cheryl was first and she gave out a yell and started giggling.. Haha.. was the vibrating effect that was tickling her legs.
Verdict: The uSqueeze is really cool. The messaging, vibrating and heat are great. But I cannot stand the heat as it jus gets too warm for comfort after some time. But you can choose to switch off the heat/vibrate mode thou. $738 per set.

Something caught our eyes.. This grab & win box.. haha.. then the girl said that I'm qualified to go for this grab & win. ($300 & above spending) Alamak! This is the first time I do this in public. Lucky there was not much crowd in the atrium. See my Ku Ku face..

Did not know the rules.. Actually I can grab as many as I can.. Stupid loh, I threw again those that duplicates. But I was told to take the scratch & win voucher... (Realise the crowd behind me watching my "performance"? Alamak~)

See.. trying to act cool.. haha.. The experience: There is no need for you to jump high and low.. The vouchers will come to you and somehow stick around ur hands or body.. jus grab it.. haha..

Thanks Cheryl for taking these pics.. Ha ha.. posing for my catch..

I got a total of 5 scratch & win vouchers. So I got to choose 5 scratch & win cards. All OSIM cash vouchers thou, worth a total of $30. Chey right? Thought I will get at least $200 worth of vouchers. Haha... There are other vouchers too - uTrek at $99, uSurf at $99, uPillow at $29.90 & a Mystery Gift (which is kit kat chocolate loh). Did not managed to get the 50% off uZap mini voucher.. But the girl is kind enough to offer a voucher to me.. and I got an extra uZap mini for my aunty.. Good deal.. just grab first. haha..

1 May - Labour Day

Yes, 1 May Labour Day. It is also Dear's off day. Was anticipating his return in the morning, then realised that he was unable to return as no one could drive him out.

Puzzled? Why does this always happened to me? Finally, he got his vehicle at 1pm and made his way out. By then, I was having breakfast cum lunch with his sis. So he came to join us. He was so tired and hungry. Did not get to sleep and did not have any meal for the whole night.

Hai~ bad for his health.. after his chicken rice meal, we went to PartyWorld, but was disappointed as there was no room left. In the end, we went home and decided to go Msia for a dinner cum some shopping.

After some sleep, Dear drove us to Msia for dinner. Hmm, could not get his uncle. He would know how to drive around in JB. So in the end, we gave up. Had our dinner and made our way back to SG. However, Dear suggested to go KTV cos the night was still young.. Haha.. so we went Shenton Way to K till 2am. Was really tired by then..

Thanks Dear for compromising.. Knew that you were very tired...

Swine Flu is here...

Hai~ Another crisis is here.. nw it involves life & death.. Swine flu, known as pig flu, but this virus spreads among humans, nt pigs..

Grandpa was in hospital and on Wednesday 29 Apr, SGH was already on action. At every block, they created a check station at the lift area. Every visitors have to go thru the check point in order to enter the lift. In this check station, they had set up the temperature sensor to ensure no one enters with a fever. Everyone was given a mask to wear for safety purpose and a sticker to acknowledge that this visitor had gone thru the check station.

Then on Thursday 30 Apr, I was informed that my grandpa had discharged from the hospital. So puzzled~ My grandpa's condition was unstable and his fever kept coming back. Called my grandma to verify. Then understand that the hospital is forcing all patients who are in correct state of mind or able to walk or those under observation back home..

My grandma told me that the hospital was in chaos. It was like a wet market and everyone is rushing here and there. My grandpa's room has 6 patients and 4 were asked to discharge. Families all arrived to pick their love ones home. This is a sign that there must be swine flu patients in there and SGH is preparing to empty the rooms for the coming patients and to prevent the virus from spreading to other patients. OMG!

By then, going in to the hospital was difficult. Only 2 person can visit a patient at one time. When visiting hours are over, no one is allowed to stay back to accompany the patients. Everyone's NRIC was taken down plus the time of visit.

Really got to be careful as the flu might be near us any time.
